Police: Man taken into custody after fight in downtown Seattle

SEATTLE -  An armed man was taken into custody Friday after a fight disturbance in downtown Seattle, police said. 

The incident happened after 5 p.m. at the Ross on Third Avenue and Pike Street.

According to police, an off-duty officer inside the store received a report about a fight outside between two people.

The officer went outside and a man told him another man had pulled a gun on him. 

Police said a man was walking away from the scene and the officer tried to stop him, but the man fled on foot. Responding officers caught up with the man and he was taken into custody. 

According to police, a gun was found in the man’s pocket. 

Police said the man is a convicted felon and had outstanding misdemeanor warrants against him in King County. He was booked into the King County Jail.
