Police: Man robs woman at knifepoint in North Seattle

SE — A 50-year-old woman was robbed at knifepoint in North Seattle Friday afternoon, police said.

The robbery happened in the 7200 block of Roosevelt Way Northeast around 2:15 p.m.

Police received a report of an armed street robbery involving a knife.

The woman told officers when she was walking, she felt tugging on her purse from behind.

As the woman started to shout, the purse came off the woman, and she grabbed it and pulled it back toward her body.

Police said a man circled around her and the woman saw the man holding a silver-colored knife in his hand.

After seeing the knife, the woman let go of her purse and the man ran off eastbound on Northeast 72nd Street and remains at large.

The woman was not injured.

A description of the man is unknown at this time and police will continue to investigate the robbery.
