Police: Man robbed at Cal Anderson Park

SEATTLE — A 19-year-old man was robbed Friday night as he was walking through Cal Anderson Park, police said.

At about 8:30 p.m., the man was walking through the park near the basketball courts when he was approached by another man who asked him for the time.

Police said when the man pulled out his phone, the other man grabbed it and walked away. The man then tried to get his phone back and the other man pulled a handgun out and pointed it at the man.

According to police, the victim fled and called 911 from another location. He was not injured.

Officers searched the area but could not find the suspect.

Police described the man as black, in his 20s, about 6 feet tall, thin build, wearing a black and gray hooded sweatshirt.
