Police: Man injured in Lakewood apartment shooting

LAKEWOOD, Wash. — A man was shot at a Lakewood apartment Saturday night, police said.

Around 8:19 p.m., police responded to a report of a man who showed up with a gunshot wound to the groin at an apartment in the 5600 block of Boston Avenue

Police said the gunshot wound may have been self-inflicted at the time.

When authorities arrived, they determined that the shooting happened at the apartment.

Medics responded to the scene and took the man to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

An investigation led police to believe the shooting was not self-inflicted and may have been the result of a struggle over a gun for an unknown reason.

Police will continue to investigate the shooting.
