Man found under crashed, stolen bicycle

CENTRALIA, Wash. — An intoxicated man stole a bicycle from the top story of an apartment building and then rode it down a flight of stairs before crashing at the bottom, police said.

Gerald R. Loveless, 63, crashed headfirst into a wall, according to police. Officers found him underneath the stolen bicycle at the bottom of the stairs of a building in the in the 300 block of Centralia College Boulevard early Wednesday morning.

The bicycle was damaged in the crash and Loveless was injured. He was brought to a hospital in an ambulance.

The bicycle was returned to its owner and Loveless was cited for its theft.
