Police: Man fatally shot while sleeping in car

Seattle -- — Seattle Police officers responding to multiple 911 calls for 'shots fired' in the area of Rainier Avenue South and South Austin Street found an unresponsive man sitting inside of a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds to his body just before 1 a.m. Wednesday.

Police have no suspect information at this time. Witnesses told police the man lived in his vehicle near the intersection. Police believe the man was likely asleep when he was shot.

Homicide detectives responded to process the scene. Anyone with information about this incident and or suspect(s) is asked to call 9-1-1. Anonymous tips are welcome.
