SEATTLE - A man was slashed in the neck with a box cutter during a fight in downtown Seattle early Wednesday morning, police said.
Before 1:30 a.m. officers responded to a fight disturbance in the 900 block of Stewart Street.
Police said two men got into a verbal altercation inside of a pizza restaurant and one of them was kicked out.
When the other man went outside to smoke a cigarette, the men exchanged words again and got into a physical fight, according to police.
The men fought on the ground and one of the men slashed the other on the neck with a box cutter.
Before police arrived, the two men were separated by other people.
Medics responded to the scene and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers placed the attacker under arrest and took him to the King County Jail, but he was declined because of a head injury.
The attacker was taken to Harborview Medical Center to be treated and then booked into the King County Jail for felony assault.
Police recovered the attacker’s box cutter.
