Police: Man assaulted, shots fired at Golden Gardens Park

SEATTLE — Police are looking for people involved in a disturbance with shots fired at a Ballard park Friday night.

The incident happened at Golden Gardens Park after 8 p.m.

According to police, a man got into a verbal argument with another man and was punched in the face, breaking his jaw.

Then a group of men attempted to break up the fight.

Police said a man, who was with the attacker, pulled a small handgun out of his pocket. A man from the group wrestled the gun out of his hand and tried to hold him until police arrived. Then another man from the group pulled out a handgun and fired a shot into the ground next to the two until the man released the other man with the gun.

Three people fled the scene.

Officers arrived at the park and searched for the men, but could not find them. They remain at large.

No injuries involving gunfire were reported.
