Police: Man arrested after trying to take up-skirt photos of teen girl

Police arrested a man Friday night at the Capitol Hill Block Party after he was caught by an officer attempting to take pictures up the skirt of a teen girl.

SEATTLE — According to police, an officer saw a man kneeling down in the intersection of 10th Avenue East and East Pike Street and noticed the man was taking a longer time to tie his shoe.

The officer realized the man was positioning his cellphone for a photo, and his target was a 15-year-old girl wearing a short skirt who was on an adjacent curb.

Police said the officer contacted the man and told him to stop what he was doing. The officer then asked the man if he would share his phone pictures, but he refused.

The man was arrested and police found two cellphones, two iPods and a camera with him. He was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of voyeurism.
