Police: Man allegedly assaults 2-month-old child

LACEY, Wash. — A 20-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly assaulted a 2-month-old child, police said.

According to the Lacey Police Department, detectives were notified that a child was treated at a local hospital for suspicious injuries.

Police said the child was brought to the hospital earlier in the day and was diagnosed with fractures. The child was hospitalized and had non-life-threatening injuries.

During an investigation, detectives determined that the child had been assaulted in the morning.

The father of the child was taken into custody for questioning.

Police then arrested the 20-year-old man and booked him into the Thurston County Jail on a charge of second-degree of assault of a child.
