PUYALLUP, Wash. - Police arrested a man seen on surveillance video wanted in an attempted sexual assault in Puyallup Tuesday night.
Puyallup Police Captain Scott Engle confirmed to KIRO 7 Wednesday night that they arrested the 32-year old suspect at his house.
The man, identified as Sean Thomas Leverett Bagley, was booked into the Pierce County Jail on charges of felony attempted sexual assault.
Engle says Bagley was taken into custody without incident.
At 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, police were called to the Walmart at 310 31st Avenue Southeast for a report of an attempted sexual assault.
Police said the 22-year-old victim had been walking north in the 2900 block of Fifth Street Southeast when she encountered a man on the sidewalk.
After the man engaged her in a brief conversation, he attacked her and forced her toward a nearby fence.
Officers said the victim jabbed the man with her knee and was able to get away. She ran to a Walmart where she asked a store employee for help.
Officers and a K-9 team searched the area for the man, but he was not found.
During the investigation, police found that man had been inside the Walmart before the attack and a check of the video surveillance cameras found images of the man.
Engle confirmed to KIRO 7 that the man in the pictures is the suspect in custody.
