Police look for man in U-District armed robbery

SEATTLE — Seattle police are looking for an armed man who robbed another man at a University District home early Sunday morning.

The robbery happened after 1 a.m. in the 4700 block of 21st Avenue Northeast.

Officers responded to a report of a large party at the residence.

According to police, when officers arrived to the home, they were informed that an armed robbery happened 10 to 15 minutes earlier.

A man at the residence told officers that a man had a silver handgun and demanded his money. The victim gave the man his cash and the man fled northbound on 21st Avenue Northeast. The victim was not hurt.

Officers with the Seattle Police Department and the University of Washington searched the area for the man but could not find him.

Police described the man as black, 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, with a heavy build, dark eyes, short hair and a clean shave. He was wearing a dark jacket, blue jeans and a black flat-bill hat.

Seattle police will continue to investigate the armed robbery.
