MORTON, Wash. - Detectives with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a suspicious death of a 48-year-old Chehalis woman.
Emergency dispatchers received a phone call at 1:34 a.m. Friday from someone who said a man had just come to her house in the 5900 block of State Route 508 in Morton, saying he and his fiancée had been involved in a crash on Forest Service Road 73 and his fiancée was not breathing.
The caller told police the man said he and his fiancée had been “jumped” and he had been trying to get away when he got crashed on the road.
Medics arrived at the crash scene to find the woman dead.
A 32-year-old Randle man is being questioned.
Detectives are asking the public’s help in finding Roger Etter, 39, of Kelso, who may have information related to the investigation. Anyone with information on Etter’s whereabouts is asked to call the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office at 360-748-9286 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-748-6422.
An autopsy will be scheduled for the victim.
