Police are asking people to check their phone for photos if they were in Capitol Hill Tuesday Feb. 2.

A man reportedly tried to grab a woman and force her into a truck the 1600 block of Bellevue Avenue before midnight.

Since this is a popular area, police think that some people in the area may have caught this suspect or his truck in selfies or photos.

Here’s how police say the attempted kidnapping happened.

The 29-year-old was walking home from the Pike Place Market.

She was in on Feb. around 11:30 p.m. when she noticed a dark blue truck parked along the road on Bellevue Avenue. A man was standing beside it, according to a police report.

Seattle Police Department posted the following on its blotter: The woman walked past the man when he reached out and grabbed her by her arms and told her to get in the truck. Then woman began screaming catching the attention of bystanders. The suspect let go of the woman, entered the truck and drove off, leaving the woman shaken but unhurt.

The woman described the suspect as a man in his 40’s, around 5 feet and nine inches tall, and wearing a dark beanie or wool cap.

The truck is reportedly dark blue 2000 Chevy Silverado extended cab pickup truck, with tinted windows. If you have any information, please call 206-684-5767.
