EVERETT, Wash. - A pedestrian was killed Friday morning after he was struck by a vehicle in Everett, authorities said.
The incident happened around 6 a.m. along Highway 99 Airport Road near Paine Field in south Everett.
Deputies responded to the location after a report of a collision involving a vehilce and pedestrian.
According to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, investigators believe a driver in a gray pickup was traveling eastbound on Airport Road and struck a pedestrian attempting to cross the street.
KIRO 7 Eyewitness News spoke with Brent Dawson, who was driving when he saw the pickup run a red light.
“Oh yeah, they blew through the light because it was green and I was going to go, but I heard the tires and I glanced up and saw the truck coming,” said Dawson.
Investigators shut down a stretch of the highway after the collision.
A Snohomish County medical examiner identified the pedestrian as 51-year-old David Carl Murray.
According to police, the driver didn’t look impaired.
Police will continue to investigate the collision and plan to check the cameras at the intersection.
