Pedestrian injured in hit-and-run on Yesler Way

SEATTLE — A pedestrian was injured Saturday morning in a hit-and-run at Yesler Way and Broadway, Seattle police said.

The incident happened at about 4:15 a.m.

According to police, a Washington State Patrol trooper was on Broadway when he was flagged down by a motorist who said a man was lying in the middle of Yesler Way and appeared to be seriously injured.

The trooper found the injured man, believed to be in his 40s, on the street and contacted Seattle police and the Seattle Fire Department.

Police said it appeared that the man was run over by an unknown vehicle in the 800 block of Yesler Way.

The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. As of Saturday afternoon, his condition is unknown.

According to authorities, it does not appear that there were any witnesses to the collision.

Detectives will continue to investigate the incident.
