Passenger killed in Kitsap County crash


KITSAP COUNTY, Wash. - A 20-year-old man was killed in a crash Friday morning in Kitsap County, said officials with the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office. 

The collision happened in the 12500 block of Central Valley Road Northwest. 

Authorities said a 911 report came in around 5:20 a.m. about the crash. 

According to the Sheriff’s Office, a 2010 Mazda 3 was traveling southbound on Central Valley Road Northwest at a high rate of speed. 

The driver of the vehicle lost control at a curve and crashed.

When crews arrived, a 20-year-old passenger in the vehicle was dead at the scene. 

The 22-year-old driver was taken to Harrison Medical Center. He was then taken to Kitsap County Jail and booked on a charge of vehicular homicide. His bail was set to $200,000. 

Investigators said alcohol was likely a factor in the crash.
