Bellingham Airport passenger says grenade look-alike used for pot

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Whatcom County sheriff's officials say a bomb squad investigated a suspicious device found in a passenger’s suitcase at Bellingham International Airport.

The passenger said the device was a "grenade-like" marijuana grinder.

A perimeter was set up around the airport and the FBI was notified.

Port of Bellingham officials say the checkpoint was cleared around 10:30 Saturday morning, after the "grenade look-alike" marijuana grinder was determined to be inert.

Details are still coming in.
