Over 6,000 customers without power across Seattle this morning

SEATTLE — Two large power outages are affecting over 6,000 customers in the city of Seattle.

The latest outage was reported just before 4:30 a.m. Thursday and is affecting 3151 customers in the Capitol Hill, First Hill, Central District, Wedgwood and Laurelhurst neighborhoods. The same outage is also affecting parts of West Seattle. The cause of that outage is still being investigated. Seattle City Light estimates the power will be restored by 8:31 a.m. Thursday.

An outage reported just before 11 p.m. in South Seattle is affecting customers in the Columbia City, Beacon Hill and Seward Park neighborhoods. The cause of that outage was reported to be a tree that fell on power lines. Customers should have their power restored by noon.
