More than 20 evidence markers were at the scene where Rainier Avenue South was blocked while investigators gathered evidence. The street reopened shortly before 6 a.m.
The area has been the scene of other violent crimes. A man was shot in the face after an argument in June. The same month, a 19-year-old pregnant woman was shot while waiting at a bus stop, causing her to lose the baby.
