Vehicle driven by missing Arizona man, 79, found in Skagit County ditch

George Todd, 79, is white, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 160 pounds with blue eyes and gray hair. He is hard of hearing and may have early onset dementia.

SKAGIT COUNTY, Wash. — Authorities are looking for a 79-year-old Arizona man who was visiting Washington and was last seen by police in Everett on Sunday.

George Todd had traveled to Washington to look for a friend he had not seen in sometime.

Police say Todd is hard of hearing and may have early onset dementia. He was helped by police in the Granite Falls area, who took him to Marysville Saturday.

He was again contacted by officers in the Everett area Sunday.  At that time, he said he planned on going back to Arizona, but on Wednesday, hunters traveling along Cascade River Road, east of Marblemount in Skagit County, found a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze in a ditch with no one around.

The vehicle was determined to have been driven by Todd, who was listed as a missing person out of the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

Skagit and Snohomish county search and rescue teams are working in the area of the Found Lake Trailhead, where the vehicle was located.

Todd had a suitcase with him during his travels that was found inside with the vehicle.  He has no outdoor experience and family has mentioned that he might try to travel to Washington County, Oregon, or Pennsylvania as well.

Todd is white, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 160 pounds with blue eyes and gray hair.

Anyone with information about Todd and his travels since Sunday is asked to contact the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office.
