EVERETT, Wash. — The Snohomish County Council is hearing public comment on a ban of safe injection sites.
The proposed ban is among one of the many in that area.

The public hearing is specifically about the unincorporated parts of the county. Other Snohomish County cities are already considering their own temporary bans.
If a ban for the unincorporated parts of Snohomish County passes, it could possibly join Marysville, Lynnwood and Sultan, which are also looking at banning them as well.
Lake Stevens already has a ban in place.
The Snohomish County Council passed a six-month moratorium on injection sites in September.
Several cities in King County have already taken steps to ban injection sites.
Auburn, Bellevue, Burien, Federal Way, Kent, Renton and Sammamish have all passed temporary or permanent bans.
An hour before the public hearing happens at 1:30 p.m. Monday, the Snohomish County health department, county executive and sheriff will be announcing a new initiative on addictions and increasing treatment options.
