ARLINGTON, Wash. — The Snohomish County Search and Rescue Unit and volunteers from Snohomish County Volunteer Search and Rescue rescued four people who were stranded along the banks of the Stilliguamish River west of Arlington Sunday.

The group was in the river with inflatable floats and no lifejackets when one of the floats popped, forcing the group to get out of the river at a very steep hillside in the brush.

One of the swimmers called 911 and a search and rescue deputy responded, along with a patrol deputy, two firefighters, and two volunteers.

Only one person, a 22-year-old Everett woman, was transported to Providence Hospital for minor injuries.

The other members of the group included a 25-year-old Marysville woman, a 17-year-old Tacoma girl, and a 23-year-old Everett man.  The entire operation took about three hours.
