BURLINGTON, Wash. — A man may be charged with vehicular homicide after hitting his wife with his truck, killing her, according to Burlington police.
On Monday at 11:45 p.m., Burlington police were called to a car-pedestrian crash in the 800 block of Cassandra Court involving a white Ford F150 truck.
The driver was still at the scene when officers and medics arrived.
Medics began to give aid to a 24-year-old Mount Vernon woman who was badly hurt in the incident. She was then transported to Skagit Valley Hospital.
The driver of the truck, a 26-year-old Mount Vernon man, was later found to be the husband of the injured woman.
According to witnesses, the husband and wife were arguing just before the wife was hit by the truck.
The victim later died from her injuries while at the hospital.
After an investigation, the driver of the truck was taken into custody and booked into the Skagit County Jail for investigation of vehicular homicide, domestic violence and DUI.
