MARYSVILLE, Wash. — Marysville police are hoping a city council vote on Monday will allow them to fly drones, which several departments in the area already use.
Police argue that using drones will help keep officers out of dangerous situations,a like when K9s or robots are used. Drones also give officers a bird's-eye view of crash and crime scenes.

Earlier this year, as Auburn police showed KIRO 7 how they're using the flying technology to investigate crimes and crashes.
Next week, the Marysville City Council will vote on whether to allow its police department to buy four drones.
Discussion in a work session this week pointed out that drones could be used for surveillance, traffic and emergency management.
In addition to Auburn, police in Renton and Kent also use drones in their work at crime scenes.
The Seattle Police Department’s drones were grounded and some were returned to their vendors after citizens voiced privacy concerns.
