SNOHOMISH, Wash, — A man who was critically injured in a 2017 rock climbing fall near Leavenworth reunited with deputies who helped save his life last Friday.
In October 2017, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue unit was deployed to assist Chelan County deputies with the rescue.
The man, identified by deputies as David, was unresponsive and had sustained a traumatic brain injury.
Depuities said David ultimately survived the fall and last Friday visited Taylor Landing, the headquarters for Snohomish County Search and Rescue, with his family.
"David's courage and determination to continue his recovery is truly admirable," deputies wrote on Facebook.
“Our entire SAR unit was thrilled to see David and we are so inspired by his positive attitude and view on life. Thank you for visiting us, David. You touched each one of us and you are the reason we continue to do our job each day – to serve and protect our community. #CommunityFirst.”
