Four cars crash after tree falls on US 2

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — Four cars crashed on a Snohomish County highway overnight after a tree fell onto the road.

Troopers said the accident happened in the 20700 block of US 2, just east of the Monroe city limits, just before midnight Monday.

Officers said a cottonwood tree fell across the road, hitting a vehicle.

Another vehicle struck that car, and then two other cars crashed into the tree on the opposite side of the road.

Four people were taken to the hospital.  The extent of their injuries is not known.
