Everett teacher investigated after inappropriate relationships with students alleged

An advanced placement teacher at an Everett High school has been on paid administrative leave for nearly a year after a former student filed a civil suit alleging he groomed her while she was a student, and then had sex with her beginning when she was 18 years old.

A second, younger victim has also filed suit alleging the same teacher also groomed her 10 years later.

On KIRO 7 at 5:00 Deborah Horne is speaking with the lawyer for both victims and is asking why the alleged teacher continues to be on paid leave, and is asking why the second victim did not come forward to police. Watch on-air or here

The teacher has been on paid administrative leave since October of 2016, and has collected over $88,000 in that time. The teacher will continue to be on paid leave until the first case against him is resolved, according to the school district.
