Crews battle Mukilteo house fire

MUKILTEO, Wash. — Crews had difficulty fighting a fire at a Mukilteo home because they had trouble accessing the back of the house.

Firefighters were called to the home in the 6100 block of 92nd Place West at 3:30 a.m. Thursday.

Crews arrived to find the home fully involved on its back side and initially fought the fire defensively from the exterior.

Crews had difficulty reaching the rear of the home because of the small size of the road and could only access the house from the front. Crews need to determine if it's safe to go inside.

The homeowners are believed to be out of the state, but fire officials say they have not yet been able to do a search of the home.

Crews from Mukilteo, Everett and District 1 responded and were still at the scene at 5:20 a.m.
