Bellingham police investigate reports of voyeur near WWU

Bellingham police are investigating two recent reports of a voyeur seen near the Western Washington University campus.

Police said the first incident happened in the 3100 block of Ferry Avenue at about 11:30 p.m. Monday. The suspect was seen by a witness looking into an apartment window and then leaving the complex. This suspect was described as 6 feet tall, with a medium/heavy build and dressed in dark clothing with a hoodie up over his head.

The second incident happened in the same location on Wednesday. The victim told police that she saw a man staring outside her bedroom window.

There have been other reports of voyeurism from November and October:

• On Oct. 14 at 11:23 p.m., a man was seen looking through a window in the 300 block of Elwood Court. The suspect was described as white and wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.
• On Oct. 22 at 11:10 p.m. in the 3100 block of Ferry Avenue, a victim reported seeing a silhouette of a man pass by her window several times.
• On Nov. 5 at about 11 p.m. in the 3100 block of Ferry Avenue, a witness saw a man standing outside a room window masturbating, police said.

WWU is aware of the cases and has put out a campus alert in response to the latest case. Anyone is asked to immediately call 911 if they see someone peering their or some else's window.
