North Bend worker stabbed, sexually assaulted

NORTH BEND, Wash. — Police in North Bend are looking for a man they said forced a woman back into a restaurant while she was closing Sunday night.

Shortly after 11 p.m., the victim was walking out the back of Jay Berry's Gourmet Pizza & Pasta when she was confronted by the attacker.

He shoved her back inside, stabbed her once in the chest then sexually assaulted her.

Police responded to a 911 call from the restaurant, although it's not clear in the police report if it was the victim who called police.

When first responders arrived at the scene, the victim's feet and wrists were bound with duct tape.

She was transported to Overlake Hospital in Bellevue where she is in stable condition.

The attacker is still on the loose. Detectives are asking for anyone with information about the crime to come forward.
