EVERETT, Wash. — A Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office motorcycle deputy was thrown off his bike during a crash with a car in Everett Thursday morning.
The crash occurred on Evergreen Way near 112th Street Southwest at 10:30 a.m.
A car was heading southbound when it crossed all lanes of traffic and struck the officer.
A witness told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News that the officer was knocked off his motorcycle before it was dragged about 50 feet.
Video from Chopper 7 showed a car on the sidewalk with hood and fender damage and the police motorcycle overturned in a grassy area between the road and a strip mall. The seat of the motorcycle appeared to have been ripped off the bike.
The Sheriff’s Office said the deputy and the driver of the car both have non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a hospital.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
