Mill Creek charity accused of deceptive practices

MILL CREEK, Wash. — The Washington attorney general's office has accused a Mill Creek charity of deceptive practices.

The office said Wednesday it will seek a court order against Kures 4 Kids and operators Michael and Amy Gannon.

The office says only a small percentage of their donations go to a charitable purposes and the rest goes to expenses and the Gannons. The office is urging consumers to beware of charity scams.

Michael Gannon says much of the information the attorney general's office released Wednesday is incorrect. He says, "We're working with the attorney general and will do what we need to get this cleared up."

The charity is registered with the secretary of state's office. It also uses the names Cures 4 Kids, Knowledge 4 Kids and Kurz 4 Kids.
