• Snohomish County chop shop busted; 30 vehicles recovered

    MARYSVILLE, Wash. - Police said two prolific car thieves have been caught and arrested in Snohomish County.

    They stole more than 30 vehicles and took them  to a secluded, abandoned  property in the Lake Goodwin area near Marysville, police said.

    According to detectives, the two men stole cars, trucks, and motorcycles from people in Everett and Marysville over the past few months. The vehicles were found stripped.

    Detectives found out about an allegeged chop shop when police arrested one of the men prowling cars at Everett Community College.

    The Snohomish County Auto Theft Task Force said they found burn piles where the two men were destroying some of the evidence.

    The suspects are now in jail, awaiting charges.

    Detectives are hoping to return what's left of some of the vehicles to their rightful owners.
