Investigators say woman murdered boyfriend, then killed herself

GRAHAM, Wash. — Julian Fejerang's friends said they are still in shock that he was shot and killed while he was sleeping.

"To take someone's life while they (are) sleeping is kind of heinous It's rough, it's hard, it's sad. What I’m thinking here, they had to have some type of hatred," said Kenneth Riley.

At about 3 p.m. Tuesday, Fejerang's mother found his body with a gunshot wound to his head.

There was no weapon found at the scene.

Deputies then began to connect the shooting to Fejerang's ex-girlfriend.

"We started getting information that his ex-girlfriend who lives here was missing and she had been calling friends and family members making weird statements and giving away money," said Ed Troyer, a spokesperson, for the Pierce County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies found the victim's ex-girlfriend in her pickup truck at about 8 p.m. in the parking lot of the Champions Centre Church in Tacoma, about 14 miles from Fejerang's home in the Eastwood Park neighborhood of Graham.

"We found her deceased in a parking lot on 72nd and Tacoma. It appears she's died of self-inflicted gunshot wound," said Troyer.

A woman claiming to be the mother of the victim's girlfriend called the KIRO 7 newsroom overnight.

She said her daughter's relationship with Fejerang spiraled out of control.

The woman said she's flying to Seattle to get her granddaughter and also told KIRO 7 that Fejerang and her daughter never had custody issues or problems with money.

Meanwhile, friends are in mourning after Ferejang's death.

"I’m pretty sad about the whole thing. He's a great guy, really close," said Fejerang's friend, Joy Boyle.

Boyle said Fejerang seemed to have a happy family life, but deputies said there was turmoil within the household.

"She was a girlfriend who they are calling an ex-girlfriend who was still living in the residence and they were having issues with custody money and breaking up the relationship," said Troyer.

Investigators say they don't believe there are any other people connected to this shooting.

Deputies say the couple's children are safe and with other relatives.

"They were really good. They were hard-working people. Their children seemed to be fine," said Riley.
