Man stabbed near Pike Place Market

One man was cut after a Friday afternoon fight near Victor Steinbrueck Park and the Pike Place Market - and it’s the second stabbing in that area in two weeks.
Shortly after 5 p.m., police in the 1900 block of Western Avenue found two men fighting.
“One man was reported to have a club and the other apparently had a knife,” Detective Jeff Kappel said about 5:40 p.m. “One of the involved subjects was cut on the elbow.”
Kappel said the violence occurred at Western Avenue and Virginia Street.
The 28-year-old victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center. His injury was not life-threatening. Kappel did not give additional details.
For decades, there have been problems at Victor Steinbrueck Park because of drug dealers and some others who hang out there. The earlier was another stabbing there May 17, and the victim's injuries were not life-threatening.
