Man rescued from island in Snohomish River

SNOHOMISH, Wash. — A man was stranded on an island in the Snohomish River on Wednesday afternoon.

The man fell into the river from his boat after it apparently caught a snag in the river and flipped over, according to Shari L. Ireton, a spokeswoman for the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.

The man was wearing a life jacket.

The Sheriff's Office Dive Team responded to the 13700 block of Short School Road and successfully rescued him. He had no apparent injuries.
