SEATTLE - Good Samaritans and firefighters performed CPR on a man in his 50s pulled from Lake Union late Saturday night, and might have given him a fighting chance.

A spokesman for the Seattle Fire Department said he was taken to Harborview Medical Center with a pulse, but in bad shape.

Friends at the scene said he went for a swim and didn’t come up for 2-3 minutes.  They needed the help of a passing boat to help get him on board.
