Man ordered to pay $52k for police station vandalism

FERNDALE, Wash. — A man is heading to jail and will have to pay $52,000 for destruction at the new Ferndale police station.

Security footage released this week shows 22-year-old Darrell Stacey using a metal light post to break his way into the lobby last December.

Police couldn't identify Stacey on the video, but recognized his checkered hoodie from a party they'd broken up hours earlier.

Stacey said he was drunk and pleaded guilty.
