Man on the loose after sexually assaulting 2 women in a park

Concrete, WA — Police in the North Sound say there's a man on the lose sexually assaulting women in a park.

He's attacked two mothers.

One victim, who asked us to call her Lynn, says she was walking alone in the Cape Horn Community Park near Concrete December 20th when she felt something hit her on the head.

She then saw a man standing over her with a knife.

"All I can say is I hope the police find him before I do." She said.  The mother of three says the man threw her to the ground and raped her.

"I was trying to figure out what the hell was going on, what did I do so wrong?" She says.

Detectives were aware of the attack when another woman was sexually assaulted in the park six days later.

We spoke to the second victim’s fiancée at their home a few blocks from the park.

"A full grown woman is not is not safe out there with this man." He said.

He says his fiancé saw her attacker standing outside their bedroom window several days after the assault.

She was so frightened she grabbed a loaded gun and fired several times as three children cowered in another room.

The gun backfired, shooting the woman in the arm.  She was taken to the hospital where she reported her sexual assault for the first time.

"We're all pretty scared right now."  He says.

Both women say their attacker was a white man, about six feet tall, 220-250 pounds and was wearing dark clothes.

Lynn, who says she was raped as a child, waited several days to call police because she feared the trauma of filing another case.  She says she finally had to speak up "because of all the kids that I know around there.”
