Man killed while crossing the street in South Seattle


SEATTLE - A man in his 50s died Thursday night when he was hit by a vehicle at Martin Luther King Jr. Way and South Myrtle Place.


According to Seattle police, the collision happened around 8 p.m.


Fire department medics were unsuccessful in reviving the man, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.


The intersection was shut down for several hours as traffic homicide investigators remained on the scene.


Police could not elaborate on the details of the crash.


It is unknown if the driver of the vehicle involved will face any charges at this time.
