Man found dead of chainsaw-inflicted head wounds

SKAGIT COUNTY, Wash. — A suspect was arrested Tuesday in the slaying of a man who died from an apparent chainsaw attack at his home in rural Skagit County.

Police said the body of the 52-year-old victim was found by a friend who came to his home in the 4800 block of Blank Road near Sedro-Woolley at 6 p.m. Monday.

Police said he appeared to have suffered head wounds from a chainsaw.

On Tuesday at 1 a.m., a 34-year-old man was arrested in the slaying.  Police said he was a tenant on the Blank Road property.

A friend of the victim said the victim had asked the suspect to move out a few days ago.

Skagit County Undersheriff Tom Molitor said it was believed that there had been a dispute between the suspect and victim that led to the attack.

Police said an investigation into the slaying is continuing.
