Man fatally stabbed in Olympia


OLYMPIA, Wash. - A man who was found lying on a sidewalk in west Olympia died in a fatal stabbing, police said.


According to police, shortly after 6 p.m. Friday, a person found a man lying on a sidewalk who appeared to be hurt.


When medics arrived at the scene, they discovered the man had been stabbed and Olympia police were called to the location.


The man did not survive.


Cooper Point Road Southwest between Evergreen Park Drive Southwest and Carriage Drive Southwest was closed during an investigation.


Early Saturday, Olympia police arrested two men on charges of second-degree murder in the victim's death.


Police said both men are 21 year olds who have been living as transients in the Olympia area. 


The victim is a 35 -to 40-year-old man who was also living in a local homeless camp.


Police said the three men had an altercation on Friday afternoon that escalated into the stabbing.


The two men have been booked into the Thurston County Jail.
