Man fatally shot in Central District

SEATTLE — A man was fatally shot in the Central District early Sunday morning, police said.

The shooting happened near 22nd Avenue South and South Main Street.

Just before 4:30 a.m., officers responded to a 911 call of shots fired at the location.

Responding officers found a man, believed to be in his 20s, on the ground in a parking lot on the southwest corner of the intersection.

Police said the man had what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the torso.

Crews arrived at the scene, and the man was pronounced dead.

At this time, police do not have suspect information available.

Detectives will continue to investigate the shooting.
