Man assaulted with handcuffs during attempted robbery

SEATTLE — A man was arrested after he allegedly attacked another man with a pair of handcuffs in the University District late Saturday night.

Police said a man was walking in an alley in the 4300 block of University Way Northeast at about 11 p.m.

According to police, the man was confronted by a man, who he knew.

Police said the man demanded that he empty his pockets, but when he refused, the man took out a pair of handcuffs and attacked him.

The victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for lacerations on his face.

Police said officers new the suspect and went back to the location of the attempted robbery. They found the suspect and took him into custody. He was later booked into the King County Jail.
