Woman arrested on DUI after hitting trooper, police say

The woman now faces charges after alleged threats.
SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. —

A 23-year-old Bellingham woman was arrested on DUI charges Tuesday after she sideswiped a trooper who was assisting a disabled motorist, the Washington State Patrol said.

 

Police said the incident happened around 12:35 a.m. on eastbound Highway 204 just east of US2.

 

The driver hit Sergeant Chris Caiola.   Caiola's elbow was struck by the car's passenger's side mirror.  

 

 Caiola refused treatment and received only minor scrapes in the incident. 

 

The woman was arrested for suspicion of DUI and booked into the Snohomish County Jail.
