Man arrested in Bellingham DUI crash that killed his passenger


The woman now faces charges after alleged threats.

BELLINGHAM, Wash. - A 32-year-old man was arrested early Friday in connection with a crash that killed a passenger who was in the car he was driving.

Police said 32-year-old Jesse Silva Jr. was driving in the 9400 block of Weidkamp Road in Bellingham at about 3:20 a.m. when Silva crashed. 

His passenger, 34-year-old Jason Crabtree, was thrown from the car and impaled on a split-rail fence.

Silva was booked into the Whatcom County Jail on charges of reckless driving, DUI and vehicular homicide.
