ROY, Wash. - A 25-year-old man was arrested Saturday afternoon for allegedly putting his 6-week-old daughter in the freezer, said Detective Ed Troyer of the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident happened at a home in the 7600 block of 320th Street South, just south of Roy.
According to Troyer, a 22-year-old woman saw her boyfriend taking their daughter out of a freezer around 4:30 p.m.
The mother called 911.
The girl was taken to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital with a body temperature of 84 degrees. Investigators believe the girl had been left in the freezer for about an hour, and doctors expect her to recover.
The man told police that he put his daughter in the freezer to stop her from crying, according to Troyer.
The man was arrested for investigation of attempted murder.
