Man accused of beating teen to death makes court appearance Monday

COVINGTON, Wash. — The man accused of beating a teenager to death in Covington is due in court Monday.

Investigators said 26-year-old Robert Green got into a fight with a 16-year-old Montana boy, then beat him and left him on the road to die early Saturday morning in the Timberlane neighborhood.

Green was arrested and booked into the King County Jail.

The teen’s death left friends of the victim sad and angry.

“Like he couldn’t even put up a fight toward it because they didn’t give him a chance,” said the victim’s friend.

Detectives said the teen had been drinking Friday night and officers took him back to the home he was staying at, but he then left.
