Lynnwood police chase ends in crash; bystander dies

LYNNWOOD, Wash. — A 72-year-old man died Friday night after a police pursuit ended in a crash in Lynnwood.

According to police, officers tried to pull over a white van because an occupant inside was wanted on a felony warrant.

The driver did not stop.

Police said the van ran a red light and smashed into another van. The driver of the other van died.

“They pulled him right out, he was hurt bad and couldn’t stand up,” said eyewitness Trista Arnston.

Two women inside the van that police chased were taken to the hospital.

Police said both women had warrants for their arrests.
